We conduct labour rights audits/assessments when appropriate. Focus areas tend to be recruitment processes, compensation and working hours, freedom of movement, worker participation and engagement platforms, employment contracts and channels for workers to raise complaints without retaliation.
Where we find an issue, we try to work with the stakeholders involved to resolve it so as to improve the situation of the people affected. If a serious breach is found and no corrective action is taken, we reserve the right to terminate our contract.
The assessments focus on reviewing the Management Systems associated with Child labour, Forced Labour and Modern Slavery, Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining, Wages and Hours of Work, Health & Safety and Discrimination and Harassment with a lens of the following:
- Company policies
- Implementing procedures and structure
- Training and development
- Reporting and documentation
- Review mechanism
